Healing with the Drum at the Medicine Wheel in Sedona

Over the years I’ve been assisting people from all over the world to heal past wounds, physical, emotional and spiritual. I never know what to expect with each one and they are all different. No matter what you want to do from heal physical pain to an old emotional wound, drumming in the medicine wheel can help. This can help release negativity that you have been carrying around for a long time, sometimes we don’t even realize we are carrying them.

At the wheel, we say two prayers, one for releasing and forgiveness and one for gratitude and abundance. When we speak out loud to the universe we are stating our intentions and this is very powerful. I’ve seen miraculous this happen, some of which most people won’t believe or even understand.

I’ve worked with children from the age of three and the grandmothers and grandfathers, all seem to have something to pray about.

The prayer we hold is not tied to any religion, it is a Native American prayer that includes all living things such as the Creator, the Great Spirit, the animals, the four directions of the universe, our ancestors, and other things that bring us closer to nature.

The sound of the drum is healing and has been used for thousands of years. Some receive healing from it and some receive a vision.

The medicine wheel dates back thousands of years originating from the Lakota Sioux. Today, Medicine Wheel ceremonies are becoming more popular and can be found all over the world. As the teachings spread to different cultures, it is a bit modified, therefor not every ceremony will be alike. Each will be a bit different and that’s okay.

My training’s to hold the ceremony have come from several sources, some Lakota, Cherokee, Navajo and Hopi. I have also read many books from Sun Bears “The Medicine Wheel” to “Medicine Wheel Ceremonies” by Vicki May and C.V. Rodberg. I’ve also read books published by shamans and healers around the globe that have included teaching about the Medicine Wheel along with other native teachings and ceremonies. Over the years I have developed my own ceremony keeping as authentic as possible.

In the Medicine Wheel we sing songs for forgiveness and gratitude. We offer our blessings and prayers to Mother Earth and Father Sky, to Grandfather Sun and Grandmother Moon, to the four directions and the animals that represent them.

Most people experience a lightness and tingling sensation. Some don’t want to leave the wheel because they feel so connected a a sense of true security that they are afraid to leave the wheel and loose it. This is a feeling and an experience that can be done at any time and in any place.

Recently, we have been getting more requests for to do the Medicine Wheel ceremony and requests to build Medicine Wheels on people’s property. Also, recently we were requested to build a wheel and hold a ceremony at Custer State Park in South Dakota this summer. I am really looking forward to that.

So if you are coming to Sedona and want to experience this ceremony, I would highly recommend it weather it with us or anyone else, it is healing and will be an experience you will remember forever.

Then we take a scenic drive to one of Sedona’s most relaxing female vortexes down by the calming and healing waters of Oak Creek. Here we do a releasing ceremony, meditation, and Shamanic Journey to meet your ancestors and connect with your animal spirit guides. During the meditation we cast all of our burdens and worries into the water, and watch them float down the stream. Then we look upstream to fill ourselves with love, light and abundance. We do a smudge-sage clearing and blessing to cleanse our bodies, energies, and spirit. We also do a distant clearing to bless our families, friends, homes, workplaces, vehicles and travels. We set the intention of freedom and learn to use Eagle Medicine to light our path. Here we also discover your totem animals. We ask for guidance from them and receive powerful messages.

Tools of a Shaman

A Shaman may use many tools, some of which are… Herbs, Sage, braids of sweet grass, cedar, lavender, and blue corn. Also, drums, rattles, prayer feathers, stones, bones, and a staff or wand.

Sage is best known for smudging ceremonies. This practice is used for cleansing, clearing, and purifying negative energies. Scientific studies have shown that sage, when burned, gives off negative ions. Negative ions are known for clearing mental blocks and works with the non-physical, psychic self. These are the same ions that you would get from standing at the edge of the ocean and breathing it in.

Blue corn is one of the most unique corns found in the Southwest. On story suggests that the Hopi emerged to the surface of the planet by climbing up a blue corn stalk.

The drum is one of the most important tools of a Shaman. It is used for meditating, vision quests, shamanic journeys, healing, breaking up old patterns and negative energies, grounding, centering, calling in the spirits for ceremony, and of course, dancing.
The deep, earthly sound of the drum represents the heartbeat of mother earth, loving, giving, and nurturing. It brings us back to the comfort of being in our mothers womb, safe, secure, and surrounded with unconditional love. The heartbeat connects all of life and reminds us that there is no separation. The plants, animals, stones, trees, fish, stars, plants and the universe are all one. There is only one universal heartbeat.

Places you might find a Shaman

There are many shamans walking the earth today, and they can be found all over the planet. Some shamans don’t even know that they are a Shaman, yet they have the characteristics of a Shaman and are unconsciously practicing Shamanism every day.

Most Shamans are likely to be found in sacred places such as Sedona Arizona, Peru, Hawaii, Egypt, China, etc.

If you are seeking a Shaman or a guidance, there are several things you can do.

1. Ask for them to show up in your life

2.  Search on-line

3. Go to a sacred place and ask the locals where to find them

New Earth Allinace ~ Shamans, Healers, Spiritual Healers

The New Earth Alliance is a growing group of the highest vibration of Shamans, Spiritual Leaders, Wisdom Keepers, Healers, Connectors, Teachers of the new way, and anyone who is committed to raising the vibration of the planet. As Mother Earth renews herself, and we experience “The Shift,” we are also changing and being renewed. So, in essence, there is a reprogramming taking place and we were chosen to be the re-programmers.
We are all about fun, creativity, following our inner guide, healing mother earth, helping others heal, staying positive, and living our lives on purpose! We practice self worth, self love and honor our unique path. With this New Earth energy, we will begin to think less with our heads and more with our hearts.

We are practicing letting go of the old ways of control, fear, anxiety, and sadness, and transforming them into new positive energy and a higher vibration of love, creativity, and abundance.

We are also being called “The Community,” and “The tribe of Many Colors.”

The idea of the New Earth Alliance came to me in a dream on the first night of June 2010. There were hundreds of people at this gathering; we were calling it a New Earth Alliance gathering. One by one we got up on this beautiful stage and gave our message to the people. It was a non profit organization that stood for creating the New Earth Energy through leading by example. This was also promoting our work as individuals. We were raising the vibration on the planet through our thoughts, prayers, words and actions. We did not fear anymore, and we were helping people see the beauty and the truth of who we really are. We don’t give attention to the old negativity and control that once ruled the planet. One by one, and day by day we were spreading our light and high vibrations to others so that they may see the beauty in all things just as we do. The sad part is that those who chose to stay in fear, control and negativity would pass. The other part of the dream was asking me to tell everyone that I new about this.

As a child, even into my adulthood, I kept having dreams of being up on a stage in front of hundreds or thousands of people. I never knew what I was doing or saying, all I can remember was the feeling of being a spiritual leader to these people.

If you have ever drempt of being on a stage and speaking or leading hundreds of people, then you might be  a member. And if you just got “chill bumps, ” then you are definitely a member.

Welcome to The New Earth.

Personal comments about Shamanite:

Master Shamanite Sedona Vortex Tour“Strong circles of power come from the heart of this stone. Very deep spiritual protection from the Old Ones for those with no voice. I’ve heard about Toho stones used in fetish carvings; but, have never seen one before now.”

“Remarkable. The little Shamanite dolphin smolders with warmth. Placed upon a closed chakra, it behaves as a energy key — opening and healing. The large specimen is cool, like a cave opening, and draws me into the far-distant past. ”

“My grandmother had one of these black mountain stones to soak up the bad thoughts of others … like sorcery, jealousy or envy. She took it with her. I cleanse with this stone now before Blessing Way and Enemy Way sings for those in trouble. It is good.”

“Something wonderful glows from this Shamanite. An Earth angel. Past lives, lost memories and Karma patterns can be sensed by the querant…best with the eyes closed.”

“No one believes until they hold it (polished slab) close to their heart. In every case, a Mountain Spirit or Deva appears and brings a message from Spirit. Thanks again.”

“Shamanite has triggered very detailed ancestral DNA and past-life memories … essential for my art. Clients who come for divinations are touched by Shamanite’s deep-level help with grief and old karma stories.”

We consider this one of the strongest Power Stones. Shiyamanaito (Shamanite) helps a person with their helplessness or feelings of grief. Close your eyes when using it. There is help from infinite outer space within it…it will bring a miracle.
